Yes, that is a Jayhawk on my chest

A co-worker walked into my studio this afternoon and said, "I've been meaning to ask you all day. Did you lose a bet or something?" Hey, it's an honest question especially when such a proud and devoted K-Stater shows up to work (I do work at KU, mind you) wearing a Jayhawk shirt.

No, I didn't lose a bet. There was this basketball game last night and KU came from behind to win in OT and apparently it's a very big deal. I don't know about all that. K-State still has Michael Beasley. For a few more days, at least. But I digress. No, in a show of school spirit, I donned a KU shirt at work today. If I only wear it following national basketball championships, I won't have to wear it for another 20 years!

Ooh, ouch!

Mike, Mike, Mike ......

I guess long as it's only once every 20 years ....

;-)

Shame on you! I've been asked about a million times down here if I was happy they won (People just know I'm from Kansas and don't know the difference between the two schools)

And I quickly reply "no, that's not my team."

The closest thing I've done to wearing a KU shirt was read the entire Sports Illustrated article about the championship... and look at some photos from the game. But that's as far as I'll go!

And I might be asking to barrow that shirt if for some reason I can't keep up with my new years resolution.

Hey Matt. Glad to see you read the blog. What's your new year's resolution? You can borrow the shirt anytime!

"Ummm.... Really, Mike. There's no excuse for that t-shirt. None. I don't care who you work for. That's just barfy, and it's hurting my feelings."
