Tortilla Flat is considered a ghost town but was anything but on our visit there two weeks ago. The last stagecoach stop on the Apache Trail, Tortilla Flat currently has a population of 6 – all people who work and maintain the town's restaurant and museum, both of which make Tortilla Flat a popular tourist destination.

Angie, Harley and I had a great time last week in Arizona visiting Nan and Pop. We saw a lot of beautiful country and made a lot of pictures. I'm working on a slideshow this week and will have it posted soon!

Angie decided we should spend our Sunday vacuuming our apartment – our *entire* apartment. You know what I'm talking about. Not just a quick surface job but move the couch, area rug, tables, everything out of the way. While she was doing that, I went to the store to pick up a few things. While I'm out, she calls. "Mike, I broke the vacuum," she said, almost laughing. As it turns out, the vacuum inadvertantly sucked up a stray sock and it got lodged in the base of the machine. I thought I could fix it. Nope. I could take it apart, but couldn't fix it. So, it's at Eastside Vacuum, just up the road from us. It's one of those places that I can't imagine ever going to until, of course, your vacuum eats a sock. "We see all kinds of things," shop owner Darryl said after telling me he'd only charge $9.99 to remove it, "since you've already done most of the work."
