I've posted quite a few sneak peeks from our recent wedding in Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago. And while Karen is back in California this weekend assisting with another wedding, I've been hard at work in Kansas putting the final touches on Jessica and Chris' wedding slideshow.

This was the sunrise at 22,000 feet somewhere between Garden City and Denver on my recent trip to Los Angeles. I'm sure the others on board thought I was "that" guy taking photos out the window of the Frontier Airlines Dash 8 turboprop but the cloud formations were too irresistible to pass up.

Heartland Photography went to Southern California this past weekend for a wedding. Before leaving to come home on Sunday, I drove to the coast to get one last glimpse of the ocean. What a sight!

I'm sitting at Gate 7 waiting for a 7:15 flight that will eventually get me to LAX where I'm shooting Jessica + Chris' wedding this weekend. Of course I waited until the last minute to pack which included getting up at least twice last night to write things on a list of things to pack before leaving the house. Harley was very concerned by my strange behavior and followed my every move around the house. As I began to throw things in a suitcase, she tried to sneak herself in. Maybe she thought I wouldn't notice and that she'd surprise me when I arrive at my destination. Who knows? I often wonder what goes through her tiny mind. Needless to say, I'm sitting at the airport with a little more than one hour to wait and I'm already missing my family! I'm going to be a mess when Maddie arrives, don't you think?!

Sidebar: Here's what I love about flying from Wichita:
-free WiFi in the terminal
-the airport is 15 minutes from home
-free WiFi in the terminal
-it took 20 minutes to get from my car to my gate. (But yet so far I've still witnessed three people running through the terminal to get to their flight. C'mon, people!)

We finished up painting the nursery this weekend. The dominant color is light green with a yellow accent wall in the back of the closet. It should compliment our "moons and stars" theme nicely. Now, for Angie's sake, we've got to find a way to incorporate some orange!

Harley curled up for a nap today with her newest pal, Skipper Jones, Jr. They both just barely fit in the bed that Nan got for her a few days ago. It might actually be made for a cat but Harley is pretty small and doesn't seem to mind.

This was my trash can at work today. I've had about every symptom associated with a cold this week. Today I sneezed a lot and blew my nose every 20 minutes. And I sounded like Darth Vader. I'm a bit tired but otherwise I feel fine. I just hope I'm over this crud soon.

Angie and I went for our sonogram this morning. We couldn't believe it when the technician told us that we're having a girl. This is Maddie, due Jan. 1, 2009.

Harley kept me company today while I stayed home sick from work. By mid-afternoon I retreated to the much cooler basement and stretched out on the floor while surfing the web. Harley stayed upstairs for awhile then joined me. She promptly made herself comfy. You'll have to excuse the technical insufficiency of this image. It was taken with the camera on my laptop because it was the only one within arm's reach.

Yes, I'm feeling better. I suppose it would be hard to call in sick tomorrow, huh?
