I asked Rod and the guys in the Plainville wedding about the boat marooned by the lake. As it turns out, the area has suffered such a dramatic drought the past few years that the lake has mostly dried up. Heck, the township even went in an segmented the lake with roads so that you can drive on what used to be under more than 10 or 20 feet of water, at least. The area flooded in '93 and the lake level was high, but it's dropped dramatically in the past 13 years. They say it is still the best fishing spot in the area. So, what about the boat? The boat had been sunk in the lake, but when the water level dropped the township workers were able to pull it up. They are still trying to determine the owner. As for the deer carcass, the boys had no answer.

The wedding rocked, by the way, and Karen and I are really excited about the pictures we have. We'll spend all day Sunday going through them and will get an update up soon over on the Heartland photo blog.
